  • What a disappointment!! We researched the best buffets on the Strip for weeks beforehand and decided to shell out $62 per person (including tax) for the Baccanal because it had rave reviews and looked really upscale. We arrived at about 8:30 for dinner, waited in a ten minute line to pay, and another 30+ minutes to be seated. The seating area is a maze of tables and huge room dividers which make it a confusing experience to find your way back to your table from the buffet. The service was pretty bad as all of the servers seem overworked with too many busy tables to deal with. We only saw ours once during the entire evening. We went primarily for their advertised lamb chops and BBQ racks of ribs, which are a real premium at buffets. When we arrived at the carvery, a none-too-nice chef/server said: "No more lamb! No more BBQ! You can have chicken." What was left were portions of a roast chicken, and some very standard prime rib. I can get this at my local small town buffet for a quarter of the price. This is really disappointing when paying so much and not getting what you've paid for. There were about three types of salads to choose from, these were all good, but I don't really go to an expensive buffet for a salad. The Chinese food outweighed the options in every other area in terms of quantity, but none of it was any better than Panda Express. They offered a glazed duck bits which were sweet but otherwise flavorless; more sinew and cartilage than anything. The Mexican area had a chef making street tacos to order which looked good, but we didn't try them. They had pre-prepped servings of a sort of nacho dish with quacamole which had been sitting there for a while and just made the tortilla chips soggy. The single best item on the menu was a gorgonzola pizza slice I had. The desserts were all those trendy little taster cups of overly fancy decorative chocolate; the best item there was a tiny cup of tiramisu.
