  • I had to update my review one last time. As much as I want to keep putting lipstick on this pig, it still squeels for attention. I finally had to cancel my membership here. I typically visit in the late morns, early afternoons and am tired of dealing with a wet rubber floor. Kudos for making the effort to clean but this is the first gym I have ever known that mops the floor daily. Because the floor is rubber its sometimes hard to see where its wet and they don't put out any yellow signs. Call me crazy, but this is a gym, where people are running, moving erratically and hopefully working on their balance, all of which become dangerous with a wet floor and wet soles. Most of the time the gym is pretty dead but once just a few people show up you may have to reconfigure your workout or simply wait. If your thinking someone may share their station or even show a modicum of respect, you would be wrong. This gym has a confluence of people for reasons I can't begin to fathom, that simply fail every test of good manners and moderation. Don't even think of coming between 10am and about 1pm since the ponytail guy will be busy taking up as many weights and workstations as he can, while talking to himself, slamming weights and doing everything he can to interrupt you and demonstrate just how much he thinks of himself. I often think I am part of a social experiment to underline why its a bad idea to put a cheap gym near a WalMart. Lesson learned. More highlights include: 1) Prepare to spend a lot of energy re-racking weights and moving equipment around to make space for yourself. Despite signs everywhere reminding people to re-rack, very few people make the effort. Over the weekends especially its double duty to get a workout completed. 2) The bathrooms/locker room is kept sparkling clean. Late at night and on the weekends the paper towels will run out but kudos for a clean bathroom. 3) If your workout includes proprioception or anything remotely related to Dr. Clark and NASM, they have pretty standard fare except they have just 2 stability balls, neither of which is suitable for average or taller people. They have one 35cm spri ball and just one more slightly larger (I think 55cm) that is hard as a rock and fairly useless. They also have one small Bosu that may be in use by their trainer. 4) They offer a very configurable rack. Unfortunately, most people will not find this all that opportune. In all my years as a trainer I never used a rack system with a client. Outside of bodybuilders and certain types of athletes, free weight racks are a fringe perk. Of course if their one Smith Machine is in use, the Rack may beckon. 5) The cancellation process is completely hassle free, to the point of utter apathy. They didn't even ask why I was cancelling or hesitated for a single second when I wrote in the reason. Kudos for having it all figured out. 6) Amazingly I would recommend their trainer. If this was a review for him, I'd give him at least 4 stars. Hes one of the few I have seen outside cross fit gyms that incorporates balance and proprioception. He is very knowledgeable and always seems very attentive and focused on his client. I can't imagine what hes doing here, but if you need a trainer I am sure their rates are competitive. In conclusion, this gym might be good for people who are starting out or who need a place to reboot their workout after some time off. This gym is dead most off hours and does have a decent albeit limited machine circuit. For anyone else I would suggest you try it out for a week and always make your own conclusions. This review is based on my personal experience. It should be noted that I started out enjoying the small charm of this place but that all quickly waned as I became more familiar with my surroundings, the staff and other members. Despite have some positive features, the negative aspects have won the day. As always, I hope your experience is better!
