Further update: I recently had another shellac mani/pedi this time with Jamie and she really knows her stuff!! So she basically told me to avoid using cream, hand sanitizer on my nails or around it as it could be the sole cause of my shellac peeling off after a few days. Let me tell you, she was right! My shellac ended up lasting for 2 straight weeks. I'm happy to know that I can do shellac and not worry about it peeling off after a few days. Just a small tip made such a huge difference.
Update: I received my mani today and Chenda provided me with helpful tips and info. When I mentioned to her how my shellac doesn't stay on my nails, she suggested that I should try a gel coat on my nail first then the shellac colour over. She mentioned that it could be due to my nail having extra oil, or that the shellac simply does not bond to my nail (she had experienced that with other clients as well). I do have another shellac appointment coming up, so I will try her tip regarding the gel coat first. Fingers crossed!! Love shellac but it obviously doesn't love me.
I purchased some Groupon deals for this location. Just last week I went for my shellac mani and regular pedi. My pedi still going on strong but I think that's normal. As for my shellac mani, it didn't last long at all. It started to peel just 5 days after I got it done. I'll be going back to do a regular mani next month so I'll update my review at that time.
