Sort of a downgrade based on my last visit--This place can be incredibly noisy up to 4:30 am----even on weekdays--now that partying until dawn may be great idiotic fun for the ravers and meth heads--but it's ridiculous for most of us. This renowned old school place was 1980's cheapo epic, and then the most famous low budget flop house hotel in Downtown Las Vegas for many years. Now nicely remodeled, it's still not at all fancy--but has a 100% good near Fremont Street area location. The cheapovegas founders--(not the website's current owners-of website named CheapoVegas.Com) posted for many years the Gold Spike Hotel & The Oasis was their favorite place to stay in all of Las Vegas. Now--be aware--there is no longer gambling here-but there is a fun bar & pool area, too. Folks, please don't look for fancy hi end rooms here at all--people wanting fancy hotel stuff --that's where too many foo-foo yelpers and Vegas wanna be "gamblers" blow chunks when giving "reviews" of this modest hotel--the Oasis is funky and sometimes fun--and has a blockbuster downtown location.*** One added big negative--Recently I have stayed here 4 times..Every room I have stayed in has weird insects that look like European cockroaches..Not big bugs, and not scary, buy gross---but Oasis needs to be steadily fumigating, and setting out good bug traps...Also the Oasis front desk can be less than friendly. Sometimes they have a crabby attitude--like they are doing the customer a favor...Rates? Paid $60.00 for the room, including all taxes, and the hokey "resort" fee...Rose at the front desk is friendly-but the rest of the crew are sometimes almost snotty. That attitude shows a lack of training that you NOT will find at nicer places in Las Vegas...
