I'm addicted to this place! The first time I went in was right near closing. I'd been busy with work and had left getting a cake for my friend's birthday to the last minute and I was in a panic. I needed a cake for 60 people for a milestone birthday and I had to be at the venue in 2 hours. The owner said she'd make it for me within a half hour. I asked for the flourless chocolate mouse layer cake. I expected something thrown together. A half hour later (after closing time) I picked up the most beautiful cake I'd ever seen! Gold flecks peppered over the cake, orange berries in their papery husks perfectly placed and my friend's name written on a white chocolate square standing on the cake. My description doesn't do it justice. It was art. It became the center piece for the party and when the masses dug in, everyone was blissed out. Not too sweet. Chocolate heaven. We couldn't get enough. Exactly enough for the number of people we had. Perfect in every way. P27 not only saved my procrastinating ass, they upped the anti for all future birthday cakes.
Since then, I go in several times a week for their stunning danishes and coffee. Sandwiches are phenomenal too. The owners are friendly and everything is as fresh as can be. Get there early because they only make enough for the morning rush and when it's gone it's gone (and it goes fast). This isn't a bad thing. It means the pastries are fresh and often they're still warm. I can't begin to express how talented the bakers are. So happy this opened in the hood.
