| - Not good.
My massage was fine. Although, I was supposed to receive an add-on hand treatment that never happened. I could have done without the formal escort from the massage room to the mani-pedi area. I think it is meant to make you feel like a VIP, but it just feels cheesy, awkward, and FORCED. I don't need two people to wait outside the door rolling their eyes about how long I'm taking to get dressed, so they can walk me 20 feet to the next room. I don't like it, they CLEARLY hate it, so maybe stop making them do it. I can get myself dressed and walk myself to the counter to get further instruction. I went there to relax, not to be rushed and feel like an irritation.
I spent $60 or so in total with 20% tip to get my toenails painted, and didn't get a complete paint job. Ashley asked me if I wanted her to apply another coat. I don't want my "professional" toenail painter to ask me if I want another coat. I just want them to apply another coat if I need it. That's called professionalism. By asking me if I wanted another coat, it put the responsibility on me, and I didn't want to be a demanding asshole, so I said it was fine. Now every time I look at my feet I think of Ashley and the money I could have saved by painting my own toenails. I think Ashley needs a new "profession." I'm not even a picky person, but I find this to be unacceptable.
Next time, I'll go to sanctuary where I can use their steam room and sauna and not feel like one of those horrible "Groupon people." If you are going to offer these discounts, you should let people know that that their level of service will also be discounted, and that they will be treated like a person getting a discount while paying a mandatory 20% tip. I always tip 20% regardless, but I resent the fact that I don't get to make that choice for myself.
