Look, a club is either really great or really bad and this location has issues. I used to work at the Las Vegas Athletic Club (same name for 30+ years) and they do it very well! How do they do it? With reasonable membership fees but not dirt cheap, facilities that are maintained on a daily basis, and a friendly staff that does more than just sit behind the counter. This Fitness Works facility is not keeping up the pace and it is visually obvious. I have not used the weight area but will discuss the wet area. The pool, Jacuzzi, steam and sauna are in disrepair and needs a total remodel.
The steam room has loose grout and the tile is outdated. It could also use a second level step up for a more intense steam experience. The steam room has a mold and mildew smell to it which means that regular cleaning are not taking place. The sauna is very bad where the wood is rotting underneath which is not supporting the bench. It is just a matter of time before someone breaks through and sues the club for neglect, especially after this review has been posted and the owners now know about it. The sauna need to be completely re-wooded and the tiles replaced. The pool deck surface is old and fading and should be resurfaced. The Jacuzzi is overbearing with the smell of chlorine, so much so that the smell was stay on me the next morning and that was after a shower!
The club looks like it was purchase from out of state or out of country investors who are looking at flipping the properties later and who are satisfied with just skimping on by. This is a shame because it seems like no one club really stands out in this town and this club is no exception.
