Got in line before they opened. We were #50 in line without a reservation. Short gal with long hair told us 15 min wait. Others came and got seated after us but we waited...right by the front cash register. Finally after 45 minutes we complained and she said she must have overlooked us on her list...but we were right there in front of her. How can that be? I was pissed. Had plenty of time to look at their extensive menu. Lots of dishes I've never seen before, even when I visited Northern Thailand.
Got the Sea Bass in a sweet & spicey sauce. Loved it. So delicately battered but only 3 good size pieces for $28. Tried the Crispy Garlic Prawns in shell for roughly $25. Everyone was ordering them. I think we got 5 giant prawns and the rest was just deep fried shells. They were very tasty, not at all greasy but I felt a little bamboozled and would have liked a few more prawns for the price. Tried the egg rolls because my son wanted them but why fill up on standard fare with such a unique assortment of food so masterfully prepared? We also got a Northern Thailand dish of slices of beef in a rich dark sauce ...almost a gravy over egg noodles. Very complex flavors. We asked for a 7 on the spicey scale and we were sweating! They don't dumb the food down here so be prepared.
Too full for desert so they gave us a scoop of homemade Coconut Ice Cream on the house. There was also an appetizer of some sort of spicey Thai Chili Pepper rice. Not great. The service was superb. Warm, caring, quick, friendly...like you're in their house and they care if you're happy or not. The bil was over $100...the most I've ever paid for a Thai meal, but there were plenty of lower cost items on the menu -- just not ones I felt like ordering that night. I'd absolutely go back if in Vegas again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this gem, but go early and make reservations if possible.
