Today I went to get an acrylic fill with one nail repair. After I sat down the guy doing my nails insisted that he needed to remove other "lifted" nails and replace them too. My acrylics before this were new. I've been getting acrylic nails for 5 years so I know when a nail is lifted. I did not want to argue with him so I let him replace them. Then he proceeded to file the new nails into completely different shapes of my old ones. When I pointed it out, he told me he would not do my nails anymore because I was complaining. I am not going to leave the nail Salon with half my nails being triangles while the rest were beautifully shaped by my regular nail technician from New York (where I live). It is so unprofessional to ask a customer to leave your nail salon after buffing off the color and messing up certain nails. I insisted he continue because I could not leave the salon with my nails half removed. He then told me my fill would be $42 even though when I originally called the lady who picked up said it was only $20. I do not know if she misunderstood me when I asked for a fill or what. I once again conceded and agreed to pay the $42. In the end I was afraid to ask the nail technician for anything else in fear that he would kick me out of the store. My nails ended up being too long, streaky, and the whole process was super rough and painful. When he handed me the card machine it asked for $48. I was so frustrated by this point I did not even bother arguing. I tipped him because I always tip wherever I go but in all honesty he did not deserve it whatsoever. If you are looking for a place that charges $50+ for a simple acrylic fill all while they are trying to kick you out of the store: this is the salon for you. Read previous reviews. It seems like I am not the first person to experience this. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
UPDATE: I was writing this review while waiting for my friend to finish up her manicure. Once I posted it I am assuming the salon owner got a notification. Immediately, I was verbally attacked by the salon owner claiming I was lying in the review. Are you serious?? I have better things to do than lie about nail salons on yelp. Also, how unprofessional to yell at a customer who already paid you while other guests are in the salon. Funnily enough, while this was happening another lady in the salon (who just finished getting a pedicure) was complaining about the rough texture of the polish. The salon technicians would not listen to her either and tried to argue.
