BEWARE NO HUMANITY.....Needed a Dr. to manage my health care needs. My first visit was not impressive. Upon Dr. Massmilla entering the room with her laptop, she proceeded to not look me in the eye, spending the majority of time on her laptop. After leaving what I thought would be billed as an annual exam I received a significant bill in the mail. I had to follow up on multiple occasions to get the balance addressed and still ended up owing $160. Now to the real issue. I recently phoned the Dr. to explain a concern I had regarding my inability to pay a deductible for mental health services through my insurance and asked her to prescribe the medication I had been taking for the past year (which mind you is not a controlled substance). She not only refused to prescribe but never returned my call to inquire why. The key point here is that she had my records of 13 yrs which would have justified her prescribing me the medication, but instead she refused and my medication lapse. I found her patient care to lack empathy and follow up. I since have changed doctors whom on the first visit had no problem prescribing me the medications I had been taking for years and treated me like a human being.
