  • I promise, readers....I'm not trying to be picky here. Sit down in the restaurant and have a meal. It's decent, depending on the chef. Service may be on the slower end but I really could care less about the service as I am understanding that there are a lot of factors that play into that. However, order out....In fact, whatever you go with, include a salad and see what you get. It is nothing shy of pathetic. A few shavings (count them) of Parmesan and a fistful of whatever menu item lettuce you go with. Their take out is so bad. I haven't learned my lesson because I have repeatedly ordered their takeout in hopes that it has been a quality fluke all along. I just had the cod sandwich. Yes, I ordered the take out again tonight but this cod sandwich is why I am finally here, right now. This cod sandwich was on a flatbread that, I believe, they made...The Flatbread wasn't too bad--Dense like the kind of carb you know is going to sit like a brick in your stomach. As far as the actual "sandwich" is concerned. Picture a piece of breaded cod with ONE piece of leaf lettuce and ONE tomato slice that is cut as if someone had started cutting it and then looked away to talk to someone while continuing to cut to produce a super thick tomato slice -- Bit of a stretch here and there's my picky side. COME ON...No sauce? No Special Cheese that would pair well with the bread and fish?! It was 13 dollars?! ...That is my real issue here. This place is way too pricey for the quality of food you get, especially, when you choose to order take out. Typically, I go with the Chicken Romano, but even THAT leaves you to ask yourself, "How is this 15 dollars?". Yes, they give you 3 pieces of chicken and a cut-ling of broccoli but instead of this single menu choice, give me a choice of ONE piece of chicken that is of quality and interesting! Pair it with some damn pasta! Might I add that this 15 dollar Pollo dish (or any of the dishes) DOESN'T include pasta. Nope. Pasta comes as a separate order. I want to say that this may be traditional of Italian restaurants but if that's true....I hate it. I believe their menu is set to be family size portions but why JUST that? Papa J's... Please fix your take out service. Please make the meals of equal quality as if you were sitting down in the restaurant. Add some zing to your dishes, especially, since the food industry in Pittsburgh is vastly changing. Change can be good. Give it a shot? O ya, There is sometimes a woman who picks up the phone for the takeout order and she is rude as hell. Probably because I tell her to please have whoever makes the salads to put a little more effort into the salad I am ordering. "This time, give me 5 shavings of Parmesan, damnit!" For those of you who cared enough to keep reading this review....Ha, Thank you. Take heed P.s. You can never go wrong with their desert choices, though. CHEERS
