I can't believe the good ratings and recommendations for this place. For the price I would have expected better service. Save your money for a steak somewhere else (and cheaper, even in Old Montreal!) The only thing I see worth while was the pickles.
1) Too touristy (which is to be expected, but be aware this did not seem to be a 'local' hangout)
2) Service was slow
3) $50 beef wellington - puff pastry was thick and soggy inside yet burnt on the outside (my wife has even cooked it better at home before!) In addition, the filet tasted like medium pot roast even though I ordered medium rare.
4) Waitress took back beef wellington and said that she didn't charge for it, but when the check came, she still charged me for a "salad' for the sides that came with the meal.
5) My wife's rib-eye steak was extremely fatty and lacking flavor
6) Wine was no better that Trader Joe's 3 buck chuck... anyone who knows trader joes knows that their wine is amazing for that price. (Ordered Hardy's 2009 Shiraz/Cab-Sav blend for $32)
Overall the service was bad and the quality of the food was worse that what I can get at the supermarket and make for myself.
