| - We try to support local businesses, and Paletas Betty has been on the list for a while. After a quiet walk on a Sunday afternoon down Mill Ave avoiding homeless folks, we stopped at Paletas Betty. It's a quaint shop, and the server was really friendly. The paletas we shared was the pineapple one, and I commented that there was a bite taken out of ours! Turns out that all the paletas are made like that, silly me. Cute concept, but this sucker was not cheap (we also left a tip).
So how was it? The pineapple tasted like... drumroll... pineapple! It tasted like someone used a vitamix to blend up pineapple, and maybe added some pineapple juice. I'm not saying it wasn't tasty, but it was basic. I'm not sure the value was there. Maybe if I had a more exotic flavor combination, so that might have been my fault. It was decent, but it didn't blow my mind. We might think about trying it again. I have noticed groupon now deals for paletas betty - if we try it again, we'll definitely use that.
