I Just checked in. My son asked me about hotels I thought were nice and I told him Doubletree Hotels are always a good stay. I was wrong. This Hotel could use a good scrubbing top to bottom. Beginning in the the garage. Carpeting could use a good cleaning everywhere. Pretty dented and battered furniture. Windows are dirty inside and out and dead bugs on seal. I am thinking I cannot trust branding anymore. I ran into the same problem with a Best Western Plus on this trip, lumpy pillows, etc. Read reviews and don't count on the brand.
After staying for three days, I would like to note some positive comments. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable. The linens and towels are soft. I found the location not a problem. My family could walk anywhere in ten to fifteen minutes or ride the Doubletree bus. The drivers were courteous and drop offs and pick ups timely. The pool was 84 degrees, so a bit chilly if not moving around. The hot tub needed some additional chemicals to get rid of the green slime, but we cleaned the sides and got in anyway.
Management provided us with tickets for wine and appetizers in the bar to apologize for the bad experience upon arrival, but we did not have any opportunity to use them. It was thoughtful. I upgraded my star point due to the positive experiences throughout the stay, but cannot take back the the earlier comments. I encourage management to take a tour of the hotel and see it the way a guest sees it. Parking garage, sitting areas, windows, etc.
