| - I have almost never turned down a trip to the Hofbrauhaus. Check that--I don't think I *ever* have. I am a confirmed Germanophile, so there's that. But, what I really like about going there is the atmosphere of gemütlichkeit (geniality, friendliness) that I have experienced myself in Germany. It's fun sitting at bench seats with a dozen of your friends, drinking from glass steins the size of your forearm, singing "Sweet Caroline" for the seventh time, and I've never had a meal that I didn't like. Hard to miss on good old fashioned meat and potatoes cooking, although it would be nice to see German style salads, which are completely underrated and amazing.
But, overall, it's a fun place whether you're indoors with the din of commotion or out on the more subdued patio, or the outdoor biergarten next to the river.
