| - My car was the victim of a hit and run in the parking lot at Sherway Gardens. It was already a pain having to drive way up to North York to the Collision Reporting Centre so I kept my fingers crossed that everything would run smoothly with Cumis, given the fact that we've had both vehicle and home insurance with them for years.
The claims adjuster that was assigned to my case was just short of nightmare - I wish I could post his name. It was always difficult to reach him, which caused my dealership to have to constantly chase him down. I had an appointment and arrived first thing on a Monday morning at the dealership but the adjuster had not even arranged the rental car for me so I had to leave and reschedule.
When a returned to the dealership a couple of weeks later, it appeared that there was no communication from him with the rental car company again so my dealership had to scramble around to get me a vehicle.
Anyway, fast forward about a week later, I picked up my car and I was happy with the repairs. Surprisingly, I got an email from the adjuster asking if everything went well. Two days later, he casually emailed me to advise that my credit card was billed close to $650 for the rental car and that they would only pay half because my dealership went one day over schedule - WTF! Instead of accepting responsibility for not properly communicating with all parties, he kept blaming my dealership and never once apologized for any inconvenience - he just had an arrogant, nonchalant, don't give a SH*T attitude.
When the issue was finally resolved, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the poor customer service and that I was strongly considering changing insurance companies. No apology, nothing was offered; hence, I did change over to Aviva.
