  • The more and more Clevelanders I met, the more crap I heard about this place. I heard it was too expensive, a tourist trap, etc. but for a girl who grew up watching this every Christmas with my dad, I was more than excited and pleased. The tour guide is full of interesting information, lots of secrets, a charming story about how a guy kicked out of the military for health reasons got a leg lamp from his parents, then started making them, then saw this house on ebay, bought it for way way way too much (he didn't know it had been pretty much destroyed inside) and now made it a museum. The cost is $12, I think, and well worth it. There is also a museum across the street with tons of memorabilia. Not everything in the house is from the house but I learned so much and just really loved the tour. I got to take pictures of pretty much everything. We got to roam around the house. I think the best part was hearing what the tour guide had to say and the history behind it all. Parking kind of stinks if it's a busy day but there is free parking along the streets. I got there early (tours are on a schedule) so I went to the museum, took the tour, went back to the museum). I think this is good for anyone who has seen the movie and has a heart for it. If you have young kids, they probably won't like it. One Clevelander did tell me that this place is AWESOME during Christmas. I hope to take my dad with me one day!
