  • I'm having a really difficult time writing this review. Not because I don't want to list the negatives, I just don't know where to begin. I'm almost tempted not to detail how bad this property is but I feel an obligation for those who might be looking for a place to stay in the Maryvale area. * the smell of the cleaning solutions used makes the property smell like a public restroom From the moment I walked in to the lobby to check, to walking in to each of the rooms we booked - the front desk clerk advised to confirm our rooms prior to checking in due to their no refund policy - there was an overwhelming smell of cleaning solution. The problem is that it's overpowering and it's reminiscent of the smell that emanates from public restrooms. It's a good thing I did confirm our rooms before just taking possession because availability was nearing capacity and there was an error with one of my rooms. The problem was corrected right away, however, had there been no other rooms available, I would have been saddled with what they had left, after I had booked and paid ahead, via Hotels.com. The rooms could definitely use some attention. I won't speak for my friends who stayed in the second room but they're also Yelpers so they can add their own two cents. Anyway, I'm just going to list the issues found in the room I stayed in: - Door security mechanism non-existent. Not sure why it was removed but it wasn't replaced. See attached photos. - TV & Cable didn't work. But being a propeller head, I identified that someone had yanked the cable at the connection point to the receiver, thus no signal to the TV. Not a huge deal because we weren't there to watch TV. - Toilet seat was missing one of it's screws. I'm sure you can imagine how much fun that can be when you're trying to situate yourself. - Bed was sagging. If you have back issues, then you may be better off sleeping on the floor. - Phone didn't work. You could call out however, for whatever reason, it wouldn't accept. And yes, the ringer was set on. - Faucet in the shower leaked. Not bad but wasting water is wasting water. - Carpet was vacuumed but not clean. Probably just old. - Property isn't quiet or aka thin walls. You can hear what's going on in the adjacent rooms, hallway and outside. If you're on the side of the hotel opposite the parking lot, you'll hear the residents on the other side of the property line. If you're looking for a place to stay in the Phoenix, I recommend looking elsewhere. It is inexpensive however, trust me when I say - stay somewhere else.
