| - Water heater in the garage burst on a Sunday, so I called that same day. Wasn't sure anyone would answer in the afternoon on a Sunday. Since I used American Home Water and Air once before for service on my whole home water softener/conditioner, and had a very good experience, this was the first place I called. Phone was answered by a friendly, professional and knowledgeable guy. He asked a couple questions and gave me an exact, out the door quote. I told him since he was my first call, I wanted to make a few other calls to ensure the quote was competitive. He said no problem, he totally understood and if we wanted to have it replaced tomorrow (Monday), they open at 6am and they would definitely fit me in. Nice!
Turns out. The quote was well below (by about $200) the other 3 places I subsequently called. I called back that same night (Sunday) and left a voice mail message that I'd like to have the water heater replaced the next day (Monday) and asked if they could call me at 7:30am to schedule. Sure enough, 7:30am the next morning (Monday) and Tom calls to schedule. Perfect! He asked me for the dimensions of the tank and asked if I'd send him a few pictures to his personal cell number so he could be sure his guys had everything they needed. He scheduled me for between 11:30am and 1:30pm that day. He gave me a quote, and unlike so many other companies that would have provided a different number from the quote I received the night before, it was exactly what the guy from the night before had quoted me, perfect! I asked Tom for a small favor, I was waiting for a replacement credit card which was en-route to me and asked if I could have the water heater replaced as scheduled and call the office in 3 days with the new card number once I got it. Man, I sound pushy, right? Just a decent guy trying to be totally honest and up-front. Well, so is Tom. He said "no problem, just call us with the card number when it arrives." Unreal, very cool!
Gets better, the 2 techs showed up 20 minutes EARLY, totally knew their stuff and in less than an hour had the old water heater out and gone, the new one in and better plumbed than the last one and were out of there. Hot water back-on in less than an hour later. Not a penny out of my pocket at the time. Fortunately, my replacement credit card also showed up early, the next day, so I immediately called and paid my bill. Office staff was super friendly. Done and done.
I could not expect more from a company to be honest. From my initial call on a Sunday afternoon answered by a friendly, knowledgeable guy, provided an accurate and super competitive quote, Tom calling right on time and scheduled us for that same morning, a matching quote with no surprises, techs showing up early, a day delay in payment as we waited for my replacement card and overall outstanding service. If more American companies were like this, every consumer everywhere would be a thousand times happier. I genuinely wish I could find other types of companies that take care of their customers like American Water and Air does - I'd use them all.
Wondering if you should give American Home Water and Air your business? Don't wonder. Don't wait. You won't regret it. There is a reason their reviews are so good. I'm picky and I will use them for any service I need - they're great!
