The contract you sign when creating an account at Anytime Fitness requires you to cancel your account by sending them an email 30 days prior to when you want it to cancel.
No exceptions.
Make sure you mark it on your calendar when you sign up or they may end up sending you letters in the mail that you have not paid, or worse sending your account to collections.
I am sick of these type of contracts and will no longer do business with any company that forces you to sign a membership that auto-renews and provides difficult access for customers to cancel. These tactics are simply being used in cases where the business model of a company has significant flaws. They know that no one will use the gym in the summer... therefore, they do not allow you to only sign up for the 4-5 months you would really use the services. This should not fall on the customers. This is a similar thing that cable companies do. They make you pay for 300 channels when you only watch 4 or 5. Many people are voicing their opinions and canceling their cable in favor of services like hulu and netflix. Do the same with your gym!
