  • Thank you Yelp for leading me to this great gem! While looking for a place to get some drinks that wasn't too far from my hotel my friend and I came across the few reviews for this place. They are all 5 Stars. I surely thought these must be fake accounts but then I saw some Elites (plus the Montreal CM) give it 5 Stars so we decided to check it out. I am so grateful I did because this was one of the highlights for me. I'm not going to completely give away the surprise in finding the place - that's part of the fun but I will say that when you pull up and the place looks dark and abandoned it is not. The bar is hidden inside - just follow the sounds of music. This place is more suited to smaller groups - like 2 or 3 people. Anything bigger than that and it's going to be tough to get in. I would say it can comfortable hold about 15 people or so (5 at the bar and then the remaining at the few tables they have). The whole bar is illuminated with tea light candles so it does have a sexy and intimate vibe to it, The key with this place is to know what types of spirits/liquors you like and what you want your drink to taste like - more on the light or citrusy side? More flowery? Or more dark and savoury tasting? I say this because there is no menu. Nada. The bartender will ask you these questions and make you a drink based on your answers. Those were some of the best drinks I have had in a long time. Exactly how I described them flavour profile is what I got. The service is amazing - from taking your coat when you walk in (if you can find the place and get in!) to checking in on you to asking you to smell some of the more unusual liquors to ensure you will like it in your drink are what makes this place a gem. Definitely don't give up on this place if you can't find the door to the entrance of the bar on the first try and really don't be embarrassed if you happen to walk up 3 flights of stairs only to realize that clearly the bar isn't up there and have to walk shame faced back to the ground floor (won't say who did that - LOL) ...keep trying because you won't be disappointed!
