I have a love hate relationship with Value Village.
This new re-vamped version of the old store has it's ups and downs.
The store layout is gorgeous, wide selection of clothes for all shapes and sizes, decent size of house wares and knickknacks, the whole store is done very nicely. The decor really brings it together. I originally had doubts that they would be able to fill the old future shop but they did.
The "donation centre" is a nice touch as it prevents people from leavings bags of stuff outside the door. (A common occurance for the old location)
But then.. the pricing... as another reviewer stated, the pricing is ridiculous.
$19.99 for a used dress... with *gross* stains? Really?
$24.99 for used new balance shoes?
$9.99 for a glass bowl?
Woah.. so that's what's paying for the spiffy new location.
Value Village is known for having ridiculous markups that aren't justified, but this is getting ridiculous.
If they aren't careful people will stop shopping at this "thrift store" and will be shopping at Talize instead.
If I wanted to pay brand name prices, i'd go to brand name stores not overpriced, inflated "thrift stores."
