  • Poo Park. Holy buckets, Batman. I've been to this park on several occasions and I've had enough of the feces, garbage, filthy restrooms, and smelly ponds. Wherever your park fee goes, it's not going to park maintenance or improvements. Bird, dog, and horse feces cover all sidewalks, tables, pavilions, and even get inside the bathrooms. The smell is awful. If you do go here, wear old shoes and hose them off when you get home. For the love of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, be a responsible parent and don't let your kids run around barefoot. The ponds are rank and filled with garbage. Oh, and garbage? If you're lucky enough to find a garbage can, it will probably be overflowing. The bathrooms have not been serviced since this place was actually a divorce ranch. No soap, no toilet paper, and the smell...let's just bad the fish ponds are a whiff of fresh air by comparison. I am not exaggerating. Yes, I realize that geese, ducks, and peacocks must defecate. I don't blame dogs and horses for dropping a deuce when it's the owners who should clean up after them. I understand that fish ponds can be pungent. I understand that park officials can't keep the bathrooms sparkly clean 100% of the time and that some inconsiderate park guests refuse to dispose of garbage properly. But all of these factors combined and considering the extent of the feces, I just can't rationalize driving all the way up to this park and paying a significant fee to get in. It's a shame, because otherwise the park is a nice little retreat with a very interesting history. It is one of the few Las Vegas parks that allows you to rent a pavilion for a reasonable fee, but with the entrance fee and considering that the first arrival to our picnic panicked over the feces in the pavilion (they called us to buy a broom, can of Lysol, and a packet of Lysol wipes to tidy up the pavilion tables and benches), it wound up being an expensive outing. I would suggest going to Sunset Park or the Wetlands Park if you want to enjoy some greenery and water (and they're free!). Pay $2 and go to the Clark County Museum for your history, or $1 for the Old Mormon Fort. If you still won't heed my advice and want to go to this park, please bring your own soap, toilet paper, garbage bags, chairs, old shoes, and cleaning supplies.
