I love poutine but have high expectations. It wasn't bad, I would say it was enjoyable. However, it was not a particularly memorable experience. It was not the Montreal-style poutine I hoped for.
The service was not great. I expect much more from a brand new restaurant. I had to ask for the water, and we didn't get cutlery. We also barely got a smile.
Worst of all the cheese curds were so cold they never warmed up enough to get that perfect level of slightly melted you want in a poutine. There wasn't a single string of cheese (I didn't get the added mozzarella, just the curds).
The gravy was nice and the crushed potatoes were a unique and tasty touch. I'd go back if I had to but I was overall a little disappointed. I think it just depends on your standards and expectations. If you want a fun poutine with pick your own toppings it's great. If you want a perfect, classic, Montreal-style poutine, this isn't the place I wanted it to be.
