  • Just shy of three years ago I adopted a senior miniture schnauzer from Black Mountain Animal Hospital, and have been taking her there since then. When adopting her I was made aware that she had a chronic health issue, Urinary bladder stones and was well informed about the condition before I made the choice to adopt her. And I have to say it was the best choice I made. In the years that followed her coming to my family she needed surgery multiple times for the removal of these stones. Though I had no worries about the procedure. Dr. Winn, the main doctor I saw always put me at ease that she would be well taken care off and I believe him 100%. However through the years I met all of the doctors that work in the office and have come to love all of them. I knew that if Dr. Winn wasn't there. The other doctors would be there for me. However about three weeks ago my miniature schnauzer became ill and though Dr. Winn was out of town Dr. Augenstein and Dr. Bennett were there for me. They recommend an ultrasound and it was found that she had cancer. Though heart broken it was nice to know that all of the doctors were putting in and working as a team to help get me a little more time. And though it was only another week with her it helped to know they cared. When it came time for the hardest day, Dr. Augenstein came into the room and laid on the floor. Speaking with a soft voice telling my dog how much she cared, and how much she knew she was loved. VCA Black Mountain Animal Hospital gets more than 5 stars in my book. Thank you for your big hearts! Please keep doing what you do. We need people like you!
