  • I've been going to Dr Chuang for the past three years to do my annual checkup/physical and never really had any issues with her or her office, until I actually needed some medical advise. Usually I'm pretty healthy and so my annual check up is a vitals and blood work type of deal, in and out, and that's not a big deal. But this year, in the past couple months I've been having issues in which I've had unexplained weight gain and stomach problems. So I figured I'd address those during my annual check up. It was my mistake to think that the Dr would discuss any actual medical problems during a medical check up. My appointment goes like this, a nurse practitioner (who is very nice) takes my vitals and asks a few questions about my medical history. She takes me into the room where the Dr will see me. She gives me a form with a list of symptoms to circle if I feel or have any of those. I circle about 8-10, because, as I mentioned, I've been noticing some weird stuff going on. She skims over it and focuses on one and asks a couple questions (really just makes a few statements) about it, and concludes that it's just my seasonal allergies (which I know is not the issue because I've had seasonal allergies my whole life and I know my body pretty well). She leaves and the Dr comes in. Dr listens to my heart and says, "you just need to get your blood work and your done" as she's walking back to the door. Um, no I'm not done, that was seriously a minute max! So I stop her and tell her I have some concerns and some questions about my symptoms, and she has the gaul to ask me if I talked to the nurse practitioner about it. WTF! My insurance is paying for me to talk to a DOCTOR about my medical issues, not a nurse practitioner. I'm literally trying to ask her questions as she's standing at the door, WITH THE DOOR OPEN, because she's seriously rushing me out the door. In the end her answer is, its just age. you didn't even listen to my issues so how can you conclude anything? Needless to say, I am on the hunt for a new doctor. I'll be back to this office only to finish up my blood work because, well, I literally wasted my yearly annual on this useless Dr. She used to sit with you and talk to you if you had any questions, but those days are long gone. She now will expect that you discuss your medical issues or concerns with a nurse practitioner, and she'll walk into the room only because she has to for insurance purposes, but nothing else. She'll literally stand at the door, say hello and goodbye and that's about it. Don't bother asking any questions, she'll just stand at the door and give you a bs answer as she's walking out.
