  • I'm not really sure where to start.... I'll be honest, I like to travel to Vegas for a little bit of pampering and spoiling and tend to stay at either the Venetian, Bellagio or Wynn when in town... But his time round I was on a work sponsored trip for a conference that was being held at the Flamingo and so I thought it made more sense to stay at the conference location regardless of my hesitation..... Big mistake!! Arriving on Sunday at 5pm I proceeded to wait in the check in line for 45 minutes before finally making it to the front of the line and then being told that I had booked a room that had not been updated and was, in the receptionists words, 'very old, very outdated and a little smelly' but they could move me to the updated GO rooms for no additional charge - I agreed and grabbed my keys. The elevator trip up to the room was interesting to say the least (forget the rooms flamingo! Maybe it's time to update the elevators) and a couple of times I thought I may end up spending my night in the elevator trapped!! Unfortunately this experience occurred everytime I got in the elevator and some times it was even more 'exciting' as I had to dodge the vomit or other miscellaneous liquid on the floor. However my biggest concerns while staying were the fact that (1) upon checking in you sign away all of the hotels liability for anything that goes missing from your room (what?!?!?!) or any damage or theft to your vehicle if parked in their parking structure via valet or self park (double say what?!?!?!?) during your stay (2) the hotels wifi digital security certificate had expired and I therefore couldn't connect my work computer to the wifi the entire time I stayed and (3) there is room service only between the hours of 6am and 1pm and the menu is limited to say the least... Talk about and uncomfortable and inconvenient stay... Next time I have a conference I'll stick with what I know, regardless of where the conference is being held!!
