  • Pappadeaux sure is the real deal! Which explains the big crowd of people waiting to be seated outside. This is an eclectic restaurant that is great for any type of gathering, from a romantic date with your significant other to a big blowout birthday celebration with friends and family. We came on a busy Friday night with no reservation, so we were given a pager. We snagged seats at the bar and started off with drinks. They have a huge selection of their own alcoholic mixed beverages. Bartenders can sure make a mean cocktail! If you don't mind the loud hustle and bustle, then there would be a shorter wait for an inside table. However, we loved the fun outdoor lighting and decor, so we didn't mind the extra wait. When our pager finally went off, our hostess immediately seated us at our table before a live band. I couldn't get over how charming the patio area was. The food is AMAZEBALLS! Please keep in mind that the portions are LARGE, especially the appetizers. My Loves: Sea Bass and Shrimp - My favorite dish of the night. It must have been a special, as I don't see it on the menu. It was fresh and tasty and had lovely presentation. Coconut Shrimp - Can't go wrong with this dish. Each bite sent me to food heaven. The marmalade sauce it came with complemented it perfectly. And the shrimp was huge! Oysters - very large and fresh and muy delicioso My Like: Crispy Fried Alligators - Tasted kind of like chicken, but a little slimy. It tasted great with the Creolo sauce it came with. However, I thought it was a bit too oily and fried for me. This was absolutely way too much food for two people. I highly suggest going with at least a group of 4. That way you can share and try a lot more items. Pappadeaux is definitely worth trying. I cannot wait for my next visit to Phoenix, so that I can feast here again.
