I've never had a bad experience at AZ Hair Co until today. My haircut is great, there's nothing wrong with that... but the stylist (who usually cuts at a diff location) said before we got started that she'd wash my hair, cut it and then "blow dry it out to make sure that the layers fell correctly". I usually do not want product or my hair blow dried/styled in any way after a cut but because she said she wanted to make sure the layers fell right I said "ok".
Well She started blow drying and adding a bunch of product and I just kept thinking I guess this is to make sure it's "falling right". Then she pulled out the flat iron and started ironing my already dead straight hair. I kept thinking "whatever as long as the cut looks good". It did and when I got to the counter to pay I saw that I was charged $16 for the cut and ANOTHER $16 FOR THE BLOW DRY AND STYLE THAT I DIDN'T WANT. So I paid $16 for something I thought HAD to be done to make sure the cut looked good when, in fact, she was up-charging me for crap I never wanted!
I was so shocked I didn't know what to do... so I just paid and went home angry. I go here for cheap decent haircuts and wound up paying DOUBLE what I had wanted to. Really disappointed in that respect. Guess I've learned my lesson to explicitly state that I DO NOT want my hair to be blow dried unless it is absolutely necessary and to TELL ME if achieving my haircut will cost me an extra $16 in blow drying and hair gunk. Just really sheisty of that stylist. With the exception of this visit, I'd give AZ hair co 4 stars. I'm sorry to review/rate when upset, but that was a pretty crappy thing to have done to me and I am going to call this location tomorrow when I am in a less upset mood and advise that being charged that $16 without knowing I was paying extra was out of line. I don't expect to be refunded but I want someone to know that stuff isn't ok.
