Aside from some of the customers (especially on Saturday, God help you), I love this place. (Seriously, some of these people pig-pile on top of each other rudely to get to the freshest head of rebagged lettuce from the restaurant supply store). I swear they would step over their grandmother.
The local farmers and craftsmen and women are A+. If you want local and organic, seek them out. Everything else is good, but know that the ones that don't say "NC grown" aren't. The bag of broccoli the obnoxious crowds are circling like vultures is likely repackaged from the box wholesale down the road.
It would be nice if there were a list of rules that states, "Please do not mow over the poor woman carrying her baby for your ginger root."
I do love the market though. Many locals come each weekend with everything you need from hand made soap to pastured beef and eggs. You just have to brave the weekend lunacy to see all the good vendors.
