Chef's plate hit a home run for me! I enjoy cooking, so let me start by saying that if you don't enjoy it, maybe you should skip this service. There's a lot of prep time involved. I always add 10 minutes to what they quote.
Price: fair given the quality ingredients provided, however I probably wouldn't use this every week since it is still higher than shopping for your own groceries
Delivery: right on time and packaged well, so that when I got home from work the food was properly chilled in the box waiting for me to unpack
Portions: I was worried about the portion sizing because we are two athletic people who eat a good amount of food but we were satisfied with the amount of food provided.
Food:
- Applewood Smoke Chicken Burgers: These wee so easy to prep and turned it delicious. I was also able to use the side salad as lunch for the next day.
- Za'atar Spice Meatballs and Jeweled Rice: This one was a miss for me. The meatballs were sort of flavourless and the whole dish to me required lots of prep but not much reward in the flavour department.
- Sesame Salmon Stir-fry: This was absolutely delicious! Like a 5 star restaurant. Really great quality salmon coupled with great flavour profile,
- Creamy Spring Risotto: So I cooked this one a week after I received the box, but all of the ingredients remained fresh. Another stellar dish however I did add some more cheese at the end because I like my risotto creamier.
I will be using Chefs Plate again, but next time I won't order 4 meals because I realized that I don't have that kind of time to make these dishes on every weeknight. However, I will order 2 dishes here and there to learn some new recipes and introduce some more flavours into my meals. You also get to keep the recipe cards so you can always replicate a recipe if you like it!
If you would like to try 3 meals free please use #3platesFromMisha when checking out! You can always pause your subscription after your first week like I did to form an opinion before committing. Happy cooking!
