2 stars for the unbearably poor service. 3 stars for the food and dessert. But overall in comparison to the one in NYC, 2 stars is all I can give this.
I expected more out of this Serendipity. Perhaps I was comparing it too much to the one in New York- intimate, quaint, cute. This Serendipity definitely has the cute and dainty aesthetics but the service definitely does not live up to what is fabulous on the outside.
Same delicious signature frrroooozen hot chocolate and fun to enjoy on a hot day while people watching from the patio overlooking the Strip. Food is good, you pay for the presentation more than the taste of it.
We came on a Sunday around 11 am. We didn't get seated until 11:35. Once seated it took 15 minutes for the waiter to take our order. Then another 30 minutes for our food to make it's way on to our table and into our stomachs. Too much time wasted just to get a "quick bite to eat".
I think the reason why they have such GINORMOUS menus is so they can occupy your attention while they take they sweet time getting your order out.
Desserts are fab but not really worth the wait. Even if you order from their take out side (which we attempted the next weekend). A banana split took 20 minutes!!). They definitely need to work on their service. And if they want to uphold the essence of the NYC Serendipity, they might want to steer away from playing hip-hop music. It really doesn't jive with the cute and dainty atmosphere.
Best part of this restaurant? Probably the photo ops with the larger than life Frrroozennnn Hot Chocolate outside the restaurant, quite a manifestation.
