Call me a stupid American all you want, but this place serves up THE BEST POUTINE I had in Montreal. Scandalous.
I came to Montreal from NYC for a weekend away, with the explicit goal of eating some legit Canadian poutine. Everything online pointed me toward La Banquise, which turned out to be a huge touristy disappointment.
So on my last morning before flying back down south, I stopped at Le Saloon for brunch, which offers poutine as a +$5 upgrade side for most dishes. I got the classic eggs benedict with poutine. Screw the eggs. I could've eaten two bowls of that poutine and probably more, except that this is the Gay Village and one must at least pretend to not like fatty foods.
I'm rambling. Mostly because I'm now back in NYC wishing I was in Montreal eating poutine at Le Saloon Bistro Bar. #fatboyproblems
Ambiance is nice, servers were great blah blah blah. Get the poutine.
