This was a researched breakfast spot for me and Kelly. Definitely wanted to start off on this spot to kick off a morning of Fremont Street morning fun. When we got here we were seated immediately. The front of house greeter was pleasant and engaged us on the way to the table. Our server was on us fast and took our coffee and juice order. We needed coffee bad. Coffee came and it was glorious... Bottom line it was great diner coffee. If you have had commercial barista-type coffee, you know the value of good old fashioned diner coffee. We ordered their famous shrimp cocktail as a starter... yeah I know.. breakfast shrimp? Yes, and it was great! The server said people do it all the time, so I was not labeled as a freak. We got the traditional Eggs Benedict. The hash browns were crisp perfection and the Bennies were built well. The Canadian bacon was thick, but we could have had a little more hollandaise sauce to take it up a notch. It wasn't a huge plate of food, but it was done right. My wife and I sheepishly ordered a short stack of what they are known for, pancakes. In less than two minutes they were being served. The server let us know he gave them a slight bath with melted butter. Oh, he knew us well. I can say this honestly and until I have better, these will go down as the BEST pancakes I have ever had. They were thick, fluffy and had a delicate, almost caramelized texture to them that was perfect for a texture junky like me. The server had some conversation with us and told us how much he loved working there. That means a lot when someone compliments where they work in these days. I highly recommend this to foodie hunters.
