I've always wanted to go into the Middle Eastern looking bakery with the Brazilian flags in the window. I went in today to find a tiny, but interesting grocer/bakery. They have imported teas, coffee, snacks, pasta and canned goods. I bought some Arabian tea, vermicelli, date cookies and a huge can of kalamata olives that would cost WAY more at Giant Vulture. I stayed away from the yummy looking baked stuff and spinach pies, because i don't know if they use lard or some other gross shit. They also (i assume) make their own hummus and tabouli. There was no south american food that i could see.
I asked the older woman ringing me out what the deal was with the Brazilian flags. She said she was from there. So I guess it's a Brazilian operated Middle Eastern bakery. Those are all the rage now. Forget you tapas bars.
