The Grand Canal Shoppes have so much potential. The location, setting, ambiance are so optimal but I would concur with a few posters when they say that the sidewalk vendors trying to get you to come into their shop with promises of free lotion, etc are annoying (these are repeated everywhere in LV so it is what it is). The high-end shops really are empty but we do like drifting in and out. I hope they survive.
The restaurants on the piazza are fantastic and our favorite is Otto. We'll do a review soon but what a great setting for a nice romantic dinner with the one you love. When you're finished, enjoy a delicious gelato on the square.
We plan on staying at the Venetian when we come back and will undoubtedly walk the canal again. We may even try the gondolas which are a beautiful addition. So much potential.
