| - I want to give this place five stars so bad. I would, but my review is not without critique so I can't.
I have been coming to this place since I was in high school, and I am 29 now. They've grown and changed a lot. The customers come from all walks of life; some of them are VERY interesting folk. (One of the ladies just now paid $150 worth in 1s and 5s, counting it all out with some amusing theatrics). Their TV shows and movies are interesting selections for a salon, from action movie with copious bloodshed to planet earth where we follow predators chasing their prey. The TV has no sound, but there is music in the background -- usually today's hits or oldies. Their salon's aesthetic is specifically Grecian, complete with stone goddess statues, makeshift marble pillars and cloudy blue sky ceilings--it's most definitely not a grandiose display. The techs all have American name since we can't get their Asian names down -- Kevin, Nancy, Mike, Kim, etc. They work fast and focused. Things are loud, with techs shouting across the room at each other. Not exactly the place for a soothing spa day.
All this being said, they almost always do a GREAT job with the nails and services themselves.
And so, coming to a point in my life where I thought to myself, "you know, I'm a WOMAN now, and I kind of want something a little fancier, a little more relaxed and spa-like where I feel pampered." So I branched out. I tried the fancier, smaller-scale, less-chaotic places! I wanted them to work. But... they didn't, and I came back, y'all. And here I am, getting a to-die-for pedicure after finishing up a beautifully-done manicure. It feels so nice to know that the money I'm spending now will last me pretty close to a month, and I know it'll actually last and not break/chip. And if it does break, I know these people with take care of me and any broken, chipped, messed up nails - LIKE. A. BOSS.
Sometimes, a place or a person's quirks make them all the more lovable.
