| - I see other reviews here of nothing being fixed, and lights being out, unsafe. These were also a few of my issues after two years of living here. This place would be fine if they would simply fix things and take care of human beings. My experience from 2014 - 2016:
They refused to let me see my apt ahead of signing my lease, up to the day before. When I got my keys, they didn't work. When I got in, there were 10-20 roaches crawling in my kitchen sink, and the floors and carpet were filthy. I went straight back to the office. They said they'd send a pest guy A WEEK from then - on their schedule.
About a week later, the pest guy came, but also a note on my door threatening eviction if I didn't pay $9 by cashiers check/money order same day. I took off work and made my third trip to the bank - for what turned out to be their third math error on my lease.
A month after I moved in, the water started dripping from my ceiling. I complained several times that summer, and they never fixed this issue. Finally the chief maintenance guy looked me in the eye and said there was nothing he could do about a half gallon of water dripping from my hall ceiling onto the floor every day and night - he was off to temp fix two more that same afternoon.
The second year I complained twice more about the dripping A/C since I was afraid of fire or real damage. The guys didn't even show. I installed a gutter to run the water into my bathtub. Around this time, I also got a note saying my fire extinguisher was expired and needed checking - a note dated THE DAY BEFORE. I waited, but they never came into my unit (the stated contingency plan), and my extinguisher was still expired when I moved out.
Last winter I got another threatening note on my door, mentioning court and eviction if I didn't pay rent immediately. They'd misplaced my check. It was sitting in their safe.
Around this time, I reported the lights out on my landing, like another reviewer here mentioned. This is unsafe in a bad neighborhood, so dark I could hardly see my key to turn it in the lock. Coral Point did nothing. Instead, they published a holiday flyer a few weeks later with several bullet points on stay safe - and one was to report lights out to management.
Good luck with that. They eventually did kill the enormous roach problem, and later the massive ant infestations, so there are no bug apparent problems now. It should also be noted that there are trains running past the front and back of the complex, and the walls are really "thin".
I could mention several other issues, such as several large photos taken of my personal belongings while I was not home, of a horrible odor from the old stapled-together chipboard cabinets, and of a phone call a week before I was scheduled and confirmed to move out, wanting me to surrender my keys, since they apparently had no idea I was still living in the unit.
This is a great location with floors and high ceilings, and I appreciate getting most of my deposit back. The staff are reasonably nice people. So I gave an extra star for that, but really? They need to spend the money to fix up these units and treat people decently.
