| - I'm finally getting around to reviewing this place after going a handful of times.
Absolutely one of my favorite places!
I went here because of yelp, was dying to try the salad which was amazing! The combo of flavors and textures is amazing. My mom hates fish, when I brought her here she got her salad with chicken, I gave her a bite of mine with the salmon and she's like wow that's good, I wish I got that! That's coming from someone who you'd have to force feed any type of fish. It was still good with the chicken but the smokey salmon flavor really adds to the salad. This specific trip we came here extremely dressed down, which I kind of expected weird looks or different service based on our attire (because most people are dressed up or in business attire), but the service was still amazing and the waiter even sat with us and asked if we had any questions about the menu. I love that we weren't treated different for being in shorts and a tank top.
Another visit I was having a bad day and came alone and sat at the bar, one of the waiters came over and said "we were making drinks and made an extra one if you would like it." I'm not a whiskey fan but even that was good! I wish I got the name, it had a lemon peel in it, it's a drink on the menu. Very good and that type of little surprise makes for an awesome experience and a returning customer :) made my day.
Here's some of the stuff I've ordered here:
-Tuna: it looks raw and has these little black dots on it, visually I was like, that looks gross, it was really good though, almost melts in your mouth.
-The crab cakes: these were sadly a disappointment, they were jalapeño crab cakes but they taste as if they had been frozen and were dry.
-The dessert with the sugar cookie: the house made whipped cream is really good but the mousse itself remind me of the dessert shooters at Applebee's, the cookie was really good though but overall not something I'd get again.
-Beer: most of the beers they have on tap are kind of men beers, a lot of dark or rich beers. I sampled a few beers but I didn't like them. I like pale ales, so not much selection there. Ended up getting a bottle of Stella that visit.
-Lemon drop martinis: they make them very good!
-Hummus: I don't like hummus but it was still good, the flat bread it comes with is very warm and delicious, the other sauce it came with was so good though, it's a white creamy sauce, don't know what it's called, but has a citrus-like flavor to it which I loved, I'd definitely order that again.
-The chopped salad of course is my favorite and would go again just for that!
Never had a bad time here. Look forward to my next visit.
