I have worked out in dozens of gyms and fitness facilities over the last 20 years. I've been to large ones small ones clean ones dirty ones serious and not so serious ones. This facility has everything but dirt!!! Its not huge which is a good thing because you end up not using half of the equipment in those places anyways. But what it does have is some of the best and well maintained equipment (mostly Alantis) that I have ever used.
Chris and Shelly are the owners and are more than qualified in operating their facility. Both are ripped. They have amazing builds and are extremely knowledgable with diet and training programs. They are very proud of what they do and of the hard work that their clients do as well. They have pictures posted one of the a walls of the achievements of some the people that they have helped (diets and workout plans). Chris is a large and intimidating looking guy, but don't let looks fool you, he's very approachable and super professional. Shelly is the same. I never got the feeling of phoniness when I spoke to either of them the way that I felt in other gyms. They sure don't think that they are better then anyone either. As a matter of fact you won't feel that way anywhere in this gym.
If you are thinking of joining a gym and you live in the southwest part of town or if you don't mind a drive to get here, Yaks is the place to be. Its just the right size, the equipment is phenomenal, the staff is professional, and the place is so clean you can perform surgery in it. You get all this at a very reasonable price.
