| - If I was rating this Vet on the Dr's alone I would give it 5 stars. Dr. Mangone is a great vet, helped us with a Redfoot tortoise, Cats and Dogs. He was always willing to help us out with the bill. However we had to take our German Shepard to another vet as She has Chronic, Chronic ear infections and it was the same regiment every time, ear drops, and pills. Never gave us another option. So we are currently trying another vet and very happy.
Now the people who work the desk and the phones are enough to make me never want to go back to this vet. I got a free coupon from the AKC for my new puppy, so I called them to see if they took it, they didn't- no big deal I wasn't upset. What did upset me was the 20 minute Lecture I got about making sure I Kept her isolated and never took her anywhere because as she told me "Parvo Is Airborne!" PARVO IS NOT AIRBORNE! I've bred dogs for years and a Huge part of raising a puppy is Socialization! It is So So important that during the early puppy months to get them used to new situations and people and other dogs. Of Course you have to Carry your Puppy because if they lick a spot where a dog with Parvo went potty, or if they eat strange dog poop then they can get Parvo. However it is NOT an Airborne problem. This is super bad info to pass on to any client, it's completely wrong info. Not only that but she Literally gave me a lecture about what a bad pet owner I was. It's like the front desk and the vet/ and vet techs don't speak to each other. It seems like the vet and the techs want to help you out and the front desk is all about money. Even if the vet tells you he's going to knock off some money, when you get to the front, it's not off the bill and they don't act like they believe you that the vet said he'd do a discount.
