| - I called in to inquire about a specific tire which I found on their website. She said the price was $80, and upon questioning her about the tread, she kept pushing me to come in and see the tire rather than talking about it on the phone. I drove to their store, which wasn't very close to home, but they were the only shop who carried the tire I needed. I was invited into the back to check out the tire. She discovered that it had more tread than she thought, and therefore the tire would cost significantly more. I said I would still take the tire, as it was practically brand new for the price of a used tire.
I looked over the tire, and passed my hand along the inside to check for patches or repairs. Nothing caught my attention. No scuffs on the outside or warps. She told me the price was now $120 at the window, 150% more than the quoted price. These tires cost over $200 each brand new, so I was still OK with paying it. She asked me how I was paying, and I said cash, and said the total was $135 with tax. I gave her the money and asked for a receipt. She said "no receipt for used tires! No returns! No refunds!" which immediately gave me a really bad feeling. This tire just went from $80 to $135 and now I don't even have a receipt.
I brought the tire to my mechanic and he mounted it on my rim. Once inflated, he showed me that there were 3 holes in the side wall of the tire. I was both stunned and angry that I did not see any of these when inspecting the tire. He told me that was normal, and that you don't typically see everything unless the tire is mounted and fully inflated. He deflated the tire and showed me it again off the rim... and sure enough, the holes were undetectable. The rubber folded over itself and you couldn't feel any bumps or imperfections.
I called Best Deal Tires back immediately and told her the problem. I told her I wanted another tire WITHOUT holes in it and she began yelling at me. I asked to speak to a manager or owner, and she hung up on me.
I went back the next day with the tire and found the same woman there at the desk. She kept repeating "that's the risk you take!" to everything that I said, like a broken record. She was incredibly rude... throwing her hands in the air, shaking her head, constantly repeating "that's the risk you take!" and telling me that I should've had the tire installed at their shop. Not once was I offered installation on the phone or in person. At no time did she say "you should install it here because if there is something wrong, we cannot rectify the situation." She was happy selling me a tire with holes in it and taking my money.
I asked her to exchange the tire for another one, even with less tread. She said no, and offered to sell me a new one at 10% off.
Terrible product. Terrible customer service. Terrible business ethics and morals.
Avoid this place at all costs.
