With so many car repair shops in town, its not hard to give up hope and just pick the first shop you see and hope everything will turn out OK. Let's face it, car dealerships charge at least 50% to double more than car repair shops. And if you're not careful a routine oil change at a dealer for $60 can end up being a $500 visit after they tell you there's five things wrong and you should have them fix. Its crazy. Feel frustrated? you should, its your money and you're trusting people to do a great job for you.
I've had a handful of cars. The last 2 haven't given me any troubles and I've only done regular oil changes and tire changes at Funx. These guys are straight up and just let me know when to drop it off, when it will be ready, save money because I didn't bring them to a dealer, haven't had any issues because my cars are working fine!
Before I bought my current car, I got them to do an inspection of a used 2008 Acura TL. The owners of that car assured me there was no damage and no accidents on that car. After Funx inspected it, they found that the bottom of the front bumper had a huge crack and a piece was on the brink of falling off. They did a thorough full inspection and didn't just test the mechanical aspects. I really appreciated that and since then I don't go anywhere else. Luckily I was able to get my $100 deposit back from the owners of that car.
Funx is located really close to chinook mall, where many expensive cars are sold and repaired in Calgary.
I recommend these guys. No bs, they get the job done right and they've saved me money.
