| - Upset that I have to revise my previous four-star review but it is unfair to not let other customers know about my experiences with A Dog's Life Mobile Grooming. While yes, I am pretty much happy with the grooming that is provided, there are other factors that go into a business, customer service is a major one. I have a few situations that I wanted to address; all of which were previously discussed with the owner and we were met with nothing but attitude or any reason that something like that would happen.
When I first scheduled an appointment for my mom's dogs, everything was great! Stacy was so nice and responded pretty much within the hour of us texting. However, then it went downhill. She never showed up for the appointment! We called her and she said she did not write the appointment down when I made it. Accidents happen, whatever. I rescheduled and while she did show up, she was thirty minutes late and has been consistently thirty minutes late for every other appointment. The one time that she was early, she was four and a half hours early with little warning. She knows I work during the day and that no one is home and called me while I was at school, I did not answer. Luckily, my brother was home for once in his life and was able to handle everything with the dogs. When my mother asked why she showed up so early she simply said that they were ahead of schedule. Four hours ahead...
I had an appointment this weekend and I had an emergency come up. I texted Stacy and told her about the emergency and was looking to see if she had anything else earlier in the week, as I am getting surgery. I was then told that if I were to cancel within 24 hours then I had to have to pay 50% of the fee. ((Side note: I did text her 21 hours before the appointment and regardless she didn't respond for almost two hours.)) I would have no problem with that and I have paid a few cancellation fees in my time. The problem was that the policy was stated nowhere on her website, card, or in the messages that we had previously exchanged. I brought that up and she agreed that it would be unfair to charge me since I was never made aware of the policy.
I expressed that I was very happy with the services and that I would still want to reschedule after I had recovered from my surgery. To this, she was passive aggressive. I understand how frustrating it can be to run a business, as I run one myself. However, treating customers like an inconvenience and meeting them with attitude is not how you "run a biz."
In addition, I noticed that on yelp her response time is 20 minutes. I would like to say that, yes, her response time is 20 minutes the first time you talk. After that, she will take hours and sometimes even days to respond. I get that we are all busy sometimes. It's life.
Again, this review is in no way to slander the skills of anyone's dog grooming. The dog grooming aspect is great and my dogs love it!
