| - I hate this airport. I hate it to the extent that given the choice, I would book a different flight rather than have a layover here.
If you don't eat meat and you're stuck here, I feel for you, because I've been there. Around the first half of the B gates in Terminal 4, I did find a really disgusting vegetarian tamale that was filled with severely overcooked spinach. Near the second half of the A gates (yes, the sections of the terminal are split by a series of huge long walkways), there was no vegetarian food anywhere. None. Unless you count carrot sticks and hummus or a pastry as a meal, but I don't. And because it is so far to the other terminals and Sky Harbor provides no quick way to get around, I didn't have time to go get food. So I ate stale Chex Mix that I happened to have in my bag.
But if you eat meat and you're stuck in the far, forgotten end of Terminal 4 around gate A30 or so, I feel for you too, because you don't really have any options either unless you want a cold sandwich. For now, if you want better food, you will apparently have to make your way outside the secure area of Terminal 4, where I hear rumors of a promised land with decent food, but then you'd have to be re-screened after you eat, or hike way around this place between gates. Or maybe just hope you don't wind up at any of the US Airways terminals. Or just plan for a really long layover if you want decent food. Ain't nobody got time for that.
