| - Fast turn around time, inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. After several attempts at getting my bike fixed here, I will not go back - waste of my time and money, and my bike was unsafe.
I took my bike in for an initial repair (back tire truing, done incorrectly as was discovered yesterday by another mechanic) and was initially pretty happy with price and fast turnaround. Then I had consistent problems with the back tire ever since - 4 flats in 2 weeks. Rather than checking out the tire and rim the first time, they just replaced the tube and then...flat again.
Rather than checking out the tire and rim the 2nd time, they just replaced the tube.. and then...flat again. 4 times later, i was told by Mike that I must have "bad bike karma" (this, from a mechanic..- isn't it their business to, um, deal with that??..) and before I could even explain that the tire looked like it need replacing, it was being turned around on me.
Like many bike shops in the summer I'm sure, it seems you get some random hire working on your flat, and another one the next time.. - seemed like no communication across repairs.
Rather than waste my time further, I took it elsewhere yesterday and found out that my back axle was broke and my back wheel was essentially hanging on by a pin....something that a skilled bike mechanic would've surely noticed when taking off a tire to change a flat. Happy to have a replaced tire I feel safe ridin' and I will never go back to Mike the Bike.
