| - We got our Wall-e themed wedding cake here and it was perfect. Everyone loved it. So almost 3 years later I decided to order a beautiful cake for my 30th birthday. I wanted a corset cake base with a stiletto on top (black and pink). The day came to pick it up and it was beautiful.
Now the reviews are accurate about the company not having boxes etc to properly store the cakes. However, the cake prices are also 1/3-1/2 the price of other comparable companies that provide boxes, etc. Is a box worth $300? That's what you need to decide for yourself.
Tragedy happened when I got the cake to our time share. It was in the room for approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour. The room didn't feel hot or cold. It seemed to be in the 70° range. The fondant stiletto sank into the cake and broke in half, right before my event. Thankfully I asked the company to make cupcakes on the side for friends who don't like fondant; the cupcakes were a alternative option. So, everyone had cupcakes. I contacted the company by email. I was really bummed that my display cake was ruined. I got an email back the next day. They invited me to bring the cake back. (My actual birthday is in about a week and a half) They worked with me to fix the shoe and reinforce the cake so the tragedy won't be repeated (and I am using the cake for my party in ca). They handled the situation fairly. A lot of people talk about the price on here and how a lot more should be done for the price they pay. But the prices here are extremely reasonable for what it is. I happen to be a hair stylist and at the end of the day I can't pay people to work on them, sometimes clients don't understand the costs of supplies, etc especially in the artistic department. From what I read, fondant is particularly expensive and the custom pieces took a week to make. So, with that in mind, I give some leeway to the company and extra stars for handling the situation in an extremely professional manner.
I do hope that storage becomes easier in the future, however that could cause future price increases as well. So just know, you can't beat the price, the artistry is beautiful, and they were willing to fix the problem with the best solution they could find. I appreciate the effort.
Also they explained to me that at some point the area the cake was in could have become humid which breaks down the fondant. So just know that if you are getting a fondant cake be careful if it's humid.
