| - Because i have thick unruly long hair, I have to spend alot of money trying to maintain it which means i have been going to nice salons since I was first able to afford them. Unfortuantely, there can be alot of bad hair stylists at good salons, or people who just dont want to give you the bland normal cut that you want. NOT the case here
some background history: industry used to be a tony and guy but disenfranchised because they wanted to have greater control over things such as the prodcuts they chose, BALLZY, because alot of the prodcuts they carry are the best in the market, not just gimmicky but actually great. Also i have been going here for cuts for nearly a year now and have always been more than satisfied. Here is the breakdown
Atmosphere: Awesome. For yorkville very unpretentious. Soft lounge music is played, the stylists wear black, you are offered tea and coffee,
Customer Service: polite receptionist, deals for customers via email, 10% of your cuts if you prebook
Products: top of the line, for buying these products are comparable to other salon prices, they also offer wicked sales every so often so look out for this. They also offer many hair treatments, do make up, sell make up and nailpolish
THE ACTUAL QUALITY OF CUT: while it is no longer a tony and guy store, the stylists were all still trained at the school last time I checked. I see Maxine for my cuts, lovely stylist, LISTENS to what i want, and has always given me the cut ive wanted. does NOT try to obsessively upsell, in fact the first time i bought hair style products from her was today, she'd noted my flat iron was burning my hair (i was guilty of not having used serum for quite a while). So i bought a few reasonably priced products on her recommendation. Additionally I had Suki cut me once, equally talented and nice girl, liked her cut just as much as Maxines.
If you like a QUALITY hair cut and are willing to pay REASONABLE quality price for it, you will get it here.
