  • I was flying in from LA for just the weekend. I wanted a top notch cake for a birthday celebration so I perused Yelp for highly regarded bakeries near the W Hotel where we were staying. After I checked out the websites of a few places, I thought Caketini had the best looking cakes in both flavor and presentation. I called and spoke to Sara(h) who was polite and helpful. Having never tried any of their creations, we discussed the Gourmet Cake flavors I was considering. We decided on a 6" Tuxedo. I picked it up, it was perfectly decorated which is important for the experience associated with a celebratory cake. When we cut it, the lovely layers of chocolate cake, vanilla cake, bavarian cream, and chocolate mousse covered in italian butter cream were both elegant and decadent. The truth is, that would have been enough for me to be happy on this occasion...but no, the cake tasted incredible. I seldom find treats outside of patisseries in France that are anything exceptional like this. Definitely a great value.
