| - I never received a "warm welcome" at Hendrick BMW Northlake. But this review isn't about how I was made to feel since that is subjective. Following are the facts, which are documented:
31 Oct 2014 - While still under warranty, I took my car in and informed my advisor that I was experiencing transmission problems, as occasionally, the engine revved and car jerked/lurched forward upon acceleration from a stop. After an inspection, I was told that they found nothing wrong with the transmission.
Prior to this visit, I'd reported a clicking/knocking sound could be felt/heard coming from the engine following a lot of inner-city driving. And when I took it in for service, which was typically first thing in the morning, the engine was always cold since I lived nearby. My advisor suggested that I bring it on a day when I did inner-city driving, which is typically on Saturdays. I followed his suggestion, only to be turned away from the Service Dept. and told to bring my auto back in on a weekday when I have an appointment.
24 Nov 2014 - While under warranty, I took my car in for a manufacturer recall repair. While there, I informed my advisor of a rubbing-like noise under the front end. BMW test-drove and inspected my car and found nothing wrong.
19 May 2015 - Car is now 3,700 miles out of warranty. I took my car in because of a "Check Engine" light. While there, I mention that the jerking transmission problem persists. Also, I again reported the rubbing/squeaking/clicking noise that I had previously reported.
In addition to charging labor for determining the source of the "Check Engine" light, Hendrick BMW was going to charge labor to look into the transmission issues and squeaking noise that I'd previously reported while the auto was under warranty. Thinking Hendrick BMW would charge me for labor and, again, find nothing wrong, I telephoned my advisor and asked him to cancel the request to look into the transmission and engine noises.
19 Feb 2016 - My transmission locked up and would not disengage out of park. My car, with 49,710 miles, had to be towed into Nalley BMW dealership in Atlanta, where I had relocated a month earlier. Cost to fix was just under $5000. After noticing the low mileage on my vehicle, my advisor at Nalley BMW worked a deal with BMW North America to cover 75% of the cost. Whether or not Hendrick BMW would have done likewise, I'll never know. However, what I do know is the high level of customer service I have received thus far at Nalley is in stark contrast to the level of service I received at Hendrick BMW Northlake.
